Alnico magnets are formed through a casting or sintering process and are composed primarily of Aluminum, Nickel, Cobalt and Iron. Lower grades are unoriented or isotropic with relatively low magnetic output. Higher grades are anisotropic and have higher magnetic output in a specific direction. Alnico magnets can be found in sensing devices, loudspeakers, magnetos, motors, meters and holding devices.
Hitachi Metals America, Ltd. (HMA) offers a complete line of cast Alnico magnets.
