Accelerometer Sensor

Accelerometer sensors are used in a wide variety of user interface, power management, gaming and navigation applications as well as for hard drive protection in consumer electronics such as cell phones and PDA's, personal navigation devices, notebook computers, gaming consoles and video cameras.

The sensors are used to detect motion and acceleration and provide free fall detection when a device with a hard drive is dropped unexpectedly.
